Appropriating laboratory and workspace for an expanding business and team

After a successful few years creating leading healthtech advances, DNA Nudge required more space to accommodate their future plans for expansion and came to AIS early on for assistance, while they were in the search and select stage.

Our real estate team assisted with defining their best location strategy and went ahead with the analysis of building services on their two favoured spaces. Soon after deciding on their Whitechapel office and laboratory space, we began space planning and developing a floor plan that was organised to create a more fluent working atmosphere for the company.

Catering for both private and public workspace

Due to the nature of their work, the DNA Nudge team required cellular executive offices and laboratory space to uphold privacy, yet still be connected to the rest of the office for ease in sharing information. We created a simplistic floor plan where glazed executive offices and engineering rooms spill out onto open plan work areas. The overall space exudes a sense of openness, emphasising a culture of connectedness through open sight lines and integration across different functional teams within the organisation.

The main staff work area adopts an open plan arrangement situated on the perimeter of the space creating a bright setting to enhance the everyday work experience. An apportion of enclosed space has been made available for booking to offer privacy for focussed work, critical to scientific researchers.

Bright workspace to improve wellbeing

Details like light exposure and soothing colour palettes upgrade the well-being of employees who spend their days improving the health of others. A large communal kitchen and breakout space gives employees space to eat together at a share table style dining area and gives the team a space to celebrate staff birthdays and company achievements. With an abundance of natural light spilling into the space and bright pops of colour dotted amongst light wood details, this space is both energetic inviting and revitalising.

The overall result is a light filled workspace that enables collaboration and business development while serving as a backbone for high performance and productivity in enabling the DNA Nudge team to continue leading healthtech advances.

Creating and moving to our new office was completely uncharted territory for us all here at DNA Nudge. The AIS team were so helpful throughout the entire process, they never tired of design revisions and were with us every step of the way to ensure our project was hassle free and an exciting new venture for our team!
